Frank Herrgott is a French composer and pianist based in Bangkok, Thailand. His style is a highly personal alchemy of various musical genres that have influenced his artistic development: the harmonic richness of classical music, the sophisticated rhythms of jazz, the simplicity of popular melodies, the timbres of electronic music, and the soul of traditional music.
After beginning his training in France and then in the United States at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Frank started his music career in Paris in the early 2000s. Over a span of 13 years, he honed his reputation as an improviser, composer, and arranger, working with artists and record labels in the capital city, including Sony/BMG.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Frank developed a passion for Thailand, gradually building a network of connections in the music industry through his travels. This network opened the doors to some of the country’s most prestigious stages, festivals, and events. His list of collaborations with popular Thai singers is extensive, including names such as Koh Saxman, Toon Bodyslam, Jennifer Kim, Stamp, Burin Groove Rider, Boyd Kossiyabong, P’Kong, ETC., Two, and many others.
During the Covid pandemic, Frank Herrgott set aside his career as an improviser and returned to his first love: composition, particularly in the realm of music inspired by the long and rich tradition of classical music. This period of intense composition gave birth to several piano works and chamber music pieces. In 2023, Frank recorded his 24 preludes in partnership with Yamaha Thailand.
Frank Herrgott’s music is melodic, harmonically refined, and evocative, earning him the label of “cinematic music.”
Beyond his work as a composer and pianist, Frank Herrgott nurtures other passions, including entrepreneurship, gastronomy, and drawing.
