Newsletter No. 3 — December 2025

Dear friends, Thank you so much for being here. Many new readers have joined this newsletter over the past months, and I’m truly grateful for your interest and support. I haven’t written in a little while, so let me share a brief overview of these past months, which have been rich in music and travel.

Earlier this year, I returned to France for a series of concerts: a masterclass and a solo recital in Strasbourg and Ferrett (Alsace), followed by a performance in Annecy with a wonderful string quartet. See the photos in the gallery below.

The Magic of Christmas – A musical gift for the season

I’m excited to share with you my latest release: a brand-new Christmas music video, created in collaboration with singer and lyricist Isaac Khazi, titled The Magic of Christmas.

This original song is the result of a heartfelt friendship between two passionate musicians uniquely tied to this magical season: Isaac was born on December 24th, and I was born on December 25th.

Together, we wanted to contribute to the long-standing tradition of original Christmas songs — those timeless melodies that bring people together around the world. We hope this one brings warmth, light, and a little magic to your celebrations.

A Major Milestone: Virtuoso Voyages

One of the projects that has inspired and driven me throughout the first part of 2025 has been the release of my new collection, Virtuoso Voyages — a series of five volumes, each containing twelve original pieces.

These short pieces are progressive, modern, and musically rewarding, designed to develop a genuine pianistic virtuosity while keeping the student inspired and motivated. They explore a wide range of colors, textures, and technical ideas, offering a fresh and contemporary approach to piano study.

The full series is now available on my website and on Sellfy (PDF), and the printed editions can be ordered on Amazon. They are currently offered at a reduced price — a great opportunity to gift or treat yourself to this uplifting and empowering musical journey.

Other Works Now Available

Émilie’s Marvelous Musical Zoo Op.4 – Revised Edition

A newly revised version of this much-loved collection of 20 character pieces. Each piece portrays an animal with humor, imagination, and a playful sense of drama. Pianists of all levels love the narrative energy of this set, which is both pedagogically effective and artistically rich.

Songs Without Words — Romances sans paroles Op.3

A brand-new cycle of seven lyrical and intimate piano pieces, written in a contemporary romantic style. These pieces explore deep colors, expressive melodies, and layered harmonies, offering a rewarding repertoire for intermediate to advanced pianists. A perfect gift for anyone seeking poetic, atmospheric music.

24 Preludes Op.1 & 2

My complete set of preludes remains available as well — a journey through contrasting moods, techniques, and stylistic landscapes.

All these works are available on my website, Sellfy, or Amazon.
Treat yourself — or your students — to new repertoire for the holiday season!

New Tutorials on YouTube

I have resumed my weekly tutorials for pianists, composers, and improvisers.
The latest video explores pedaling techniques and the importance of developing a beautiful sound from the fingers.

Upcoming Projects

The Frank Herrgott Piano Method

I am currently developing an original piano method that focuses on sound, grounding, physical connection to the instrument, and building a confident and intimate relationship with the piano. More details very soon.

A Comprehensive Accompaniment Method (400 pages)

Early next year, I will release a major new method on accompaniment — a complete guide based on the styles I’ve played across more than 30 countries: jazz, pop, Latin, African traditional music, funk, gospel, and more.
Stay tuned on my website; I will announce the release in the next newsletter.

New Compositions

I am actively composing in two fields at the moment:

Choral Music: Seven Christian Prayers for five male voices a cappella, each prayer set in a different language.

Chamber Music: A series of duo pieces for piano and various instruments, written in the spirit of Virtuoso Voyages — modern, vibrant, stimulating works designed to inspire both young and advanced musicians.

Warm Holiday Wishes

I wish all of you a joyful and peaceful Christmas — a day that is particularly meaningful to me, as it also happens to be my birthday on December 25.

Thank you again for your presence, for your support, and for keeping music alive in your homes and communities.

I look forward to writing to you again in January for the next newsletter.
Until then, I send you my warmest wishes for a beautiful and music-filled holiday season.

Frank Herrgott
